Tom Becker

Web Site

.

Tom Becker, Editor, spent much of the previous year telling us that "Compelling content in Hypercard 3.0 will be completely bongo" (really, it's in his .sig file) and recruiting people to work on the LoneStarCon2 Newszine like a Cult member short of quota.

Earl "Shiva" Cooley III

Web Site

.

Earl "Shiva" Cooley III, LSC2 Webmaster, is a veteran of the flamewars of the 1980's Austin BBS scene, and sysoped the SMOF-BBS, "The World's First Online Science Fiction Convention," where folks like Bruce Sterling and EFF's Mike Godwin made their bones online. When he's not torching jaggies off of web ../graphics, he visits the occasional Usenet newsgroup with pithy one-liners like a pidgeon blessing a freshly-detailed Lamborghini.

Bill Humphries

Web Site

.

Bill Humphries, known as the 'Ned Lud of Hypertext,' has been known to deck men, women and children for using browser specific markup. The authorities are deliberating pressing charges for what he did to the Webmaster of a site using the <BLINK> tag, however, it was a blink tag. Bill designed the newszine site and feeds it with content from the print side. In an attempt to lighten up, Bill is mixing content with presentation in this design. He is still concerned that the W3C will come for him in the middle of the night.

Laurie Mann

Laurie Mann, LoneStarCon2 Press Relations, is an old fan and tired. All she wants to do is sit at her laptop and type, but will probably spend much of LoneStarCon2 working. Laurie drafted The Welcome Mat (AKA Zine 0), which, we hope, is a better way of getting from the hotel to the convention center than leaving bread crumbs, which would have definitely become toast under the August Texas sun. LoneStarCon2 is her first Worldcon in five years, and the first one her daughter will attend since she became a teenager.

Joe Mayhew

Joe Mayhew, Fan artist Hugo Nominee (1990, 1996 and 1997) has sold cartoons to Analog, Asimovs, and Pirate Writings; short stories to Tomorrow, Aberrations and Aboriginal SF. He regularly reviews for Absolute Magnitude and TV's Fast Forward. When was the Library of Congress' Recommending Officer for SF, the federal government asked him to define Science Fiction (he went mad with power.)
