Filk Info

Hi! It's your friendly neighborhood LSC2 filk-track coordinators!
The LoneStarCon 2 committee has thrown us another curve -- in the form of a stage!
That's right, we now have at our disposal a 12x15-foot stage, complete with a backdrop to improve sound reflection, from which to expose more people to the delights of our chosen hobby. It will be in the concession area, right by the exhibit hall, which is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is a high-traffic area, so make up your mind to be heard.
The Tech division will supply speakers and mikes, and also (we understand) a sound board and someone who knows how to run it. We can probably also get access to a full-size (though not full-length) keyboard, and a Yamaha synthesizer, if you let us know ahead of time.
Now all we need is people to stand up there and sing. Let us know if you or your group will be there and would like stage time, and about how much time you want. If you'd be willing to do multiple sets, tell us that too, as well as how long the sets would be. (Union members typically perform 45 minutes with a 15-minute break, but we ain't union.;-)
If someone wants to practice being an impresario, as in riding herd on the schedule and the acts, and generally making sure on-site that everything comes off as planned, we'd be interested in talking to you about that, too. (If enough people speak up, we can arrange for shifts, so no one person gets stuck with the whole schmear.)
Since we hope to attract non-filkers as well as filkers, it would be great if people perform stuff accessible to the uninitiated. But that's something we encourage -- *not* a requirement.
Send e-mail to Matt (mongo@eden.com) or Susan (susanp@evtech.com).
Thanks in advance,
Matt and Susan
