The Second Occasional LoneStarCon Science Fiction Convention and Chili Cook-off, Variously known as the 55th World Science Fiction Convention and LoneStarCon 2, the 1997 Worldcon, To be held from August 28th through September 1st, in the year 1997, in San Antonio, Texas. LoneStarCon 2, the 1997 Worldcon: Babysitting e have contracted out Babysitting to an outside service, the Northside Sitter's Club of San Antonio. Babysitting will run in a suite on the fifth floor of the Marriott RiverCenter Hotel (the main hotel), and will be open the following hours:     Day      Day Hours Closed for Dinner Night Hours Wed, Aug 27  9am-5pm   Thur, Aug 28 9am-5pm        5pm-7pm       7pm-11pm   Fri, Aug 29  9am-5pm        5pm-7pm       7pm-11pm   Sat, Aug 30  9am-5pm        5pm-7pm       7pm-11pm   Sun, Aug 31  9am-5pm        5pm-7pm       7pm-11pm   Mon, Sep 1   9am-5pm   A child with a child's membership will get 6 hours of babysitting during the convention at no additional cost. Staff members with children will get up to 4 hours a day of babysitting. Program participants with children will get 2 hours of babysitting around their program item (except between 5pm and 7pm). Any additional hours for these children, and any hours for "Kids-in-tow" (kids without their own memberships) will be $5.00 an hour. Babysitting is aimed at babies, toddlers and young children (10 and under). We'll provide diapers, snacks, sandwiches for lunch, and activities. Our babysitters all have extensive experience and are bonded in the state of Texas. Please note our closing times (5pm for dinner and 11pm for the night) and take them into account as you make Worldcon plans. If you plan to use Babysitting, it would really help us out if you drop us some E-mail and let us know the age(s) of your child(ren), and, very roughly, what hours you expect to use Babysitting.
