The Worldcon is the annual gathering of science fiction writers, artists, publishers and readers. LoneStarCon 2 will attract about 5,000 attendees from around the world and feature programming, an art show, dealers room, masquerade and the annual Hugo Awards. British SF writer and editor Michael Moorcock is one of the Guests of Honor at LoneStarCon 2. Moorcock is best known for his heroic fantasy, including _Elric of Melnibone, the Hawkmoon series and _The Cornelius Chronicles. His more serious works include _The Sundered Worlds and _Mother London. He won the Nebula Award for Best Novella in 1967 for "Behold the Man" and the 1979 John W. Campbell Memorial Award for _Gloriana_. Moorcock edited _New Worlds magazine in the 1960's, spearheading the British "New Wave" in science fiction. As _New Worlds editor, he was instrumental in bringing many new writers into the public spotlight by publishing works by J.G. Ballard, Samuel R. Delany, Thomas M. Disch, Norman Spinrad and more. Moorcock, a Texas resident for part of the year, has homes in England and Spain. The Worldcon is publishing a collection of his writing in _Tales from the Texas Woods.
